Frequently Asked Questions

Kuipers Family Farm is huge! Where is the Tulip Fest located?

The Midwest Tulip Fest is located in the Pumpkin FunFarm Activity Area on the West side of Watson Road. GPS location is 1N290 Watson Road in Maple Park.

Guests enter through the FunFarm ticket booths and follow the signs back to the acre tulip field.

I would like to do photography sessions at the tulip festival. How does that work?

There are no official timeslots for photographers. We advise photographers and their clients to purchase tickets like normal. Drones are not allowed

If you have additional questions, please contact us.

What is the condition of the field? Is the field accessible?

The Tulip Field is a farm field. It may be wet and muddy, so we advise guests to dress appropriately. While we’ve worked hard to manicure the grounds, there are bare spots and unlevel ground. While most of the field is flat, this year’s planting also includes a small hill. We will have golf carts available to shuttle guests when needed.

Please remember that the conditions of the field are dependent not only on the weather the day you visit but the days leading up to your visit. If it has rained in the days prior to your visit, boots are always a good idea.

Have the tulips bloomed yet?

The Midwest Tulip Fest is open for 3 weeks, but the tulips may only be in bloom for a short window during that time. Mother Nature decides the right time for the flowers to pop up and show their vibrant colors. There’s still plenty of food, activities, and more during our Midwest Tulip Fest days!

Keep an eye on the Tulip Bloom-O-Meter for the most recent tulip updates.

Where is parking and is there a fee to park?

The main parking lot is located on the west side of Watson Road, closest to the Midwest Tulip Fest/FunFarm Activity Area.

There are no tulips planted on the east side of Watson where the apple orchard is.
